About Färgensjöarna

Here at Färgensjöarnas Fiskevårdsområde (Färgen Lakes Fishery Management Area), you’ll find a long and proud tradition of fishery management. Since the beginning of the last century, we’ve worked passionately to protect fishing and preserve the fantastic natural values of our lakes. We are a non-profit association dedicated to offering high-quality and sustainable fishing for everyone.

Our Lakes – A Wealth of Experiences

Thanks to the variety of both large and small lakes, we can offer an incredibly versatile fishing experience. Here you can enjoy high-quality fishing for, among others, the coveted zander and the popular perch. Our waters offer everything from shallow bays with reeds and water lilies, perfect for pike fishing, to areas with flowing water, steep cliffs, and deep holes that guarantee an exciting and varied fishing.

Good to Know for Anglers

  • Free Fishing for the Youngest: Children and youths up to and including 14 years of age fish for free in our waters. A great way to encourage the next generation of anglers!

We Invest in Fishery Management and Sustainability

Protecting our fish stocks and the lakes’ environment is at the core of our operations. We actively work on various projects to ensure good fishing for future generations as well.

As an example, in 2022, we conducted standardized net test fishing in collaboration with Hushållningssällskapet (through Ola Helmersson) and with valuable support from the County Administrative Board (Länsstyrelsen). This important study, partly financed through the grant “Measures for Marine and Water Environment,” provides us with valuable information about the status of fish stocks.
